As President and CEO of Benson Steel I am very pleased and proud to announce Benson Steel Limited has completed our first IHSA COR audit and, after review, we have been presented our OFFICIAL COR Accreditation by IHSA.
Certificate of Recognition (COR) is an accreditation program. It verifies that a construction-related company’s health and safety program has reached a national standard. In Ontario, Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA) offers the Certificate of Recognition.
Any company that wants to do business with COR™ certified companies can be assured that:
- The company has reduced the risks of injuries and accidents appreciably.
- Moreover, COR™ certified companies will possess a health and safety management system, which they develop, assess, and audit annually.
This is another step on our continuing journey to zero incidents every day, both in our manufacturing facility and project sites. I would like to congratulate our Safety Manager, Mr. Ken Robertson, for his lead role in overseeing this submission. I would also like to acknowledge the Benson Health and Safety Committee, our employees and stakeholder partners for all their hard work on this endeavour. Congratulations all!
